Circular Economy Professional Day
Dr. Pál Lukács, the professional leader of the Project told that the University of Pannonia and its five consortium partners including the strategically important MOL are going to implement the plans based on the circular economy and sustainability from 2020 to 2023 in Veszrpém and Nagykanizsa. R+D activites are focusing on five main field: renewable energy, waste management, water technologies, sustainable tourism and sustainable urban planning. The implementation is supported by MOL Nyrt, Hidrofilt Kft, Bay Zoltán Alkalmazott Kutatási és Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. and Nagykanizsai Városfejlesztő Kft.
In the greeting of the project opening , Dr. András Helencsér, Rector of the University of Pannonia, named the goals of the centre the greatest challenge of the 21st century. The natural resources are finite, and pollution has more and more serious consequences, and these facts are urging a switch to energy-efficient and enviromental friendly technologies as soon as possible. In this project the consortium took no less task than to execute this approach in practice.
Tibor Zsinkó, Managing Director of MOL Downstream, CEO of MOL Petrochemicals told that the implementation of the competence center fits wll into their strategy which main goal is sustainability. MOL helps to achieve the goals of the project by providing its own infrastructure and a team of specialists.
Katalin Sebők, Vice President of Corporate Innovation of the National Research Developement and Innovation, also emphasized how the future depends on how we manage our resources, and told that she hopes that exact results and further initiatives will be achieved by the end of the project.
Another program element of the Professional Day was the first event of the Territorial Innovation Platform (TIP), in the framework of which several presentations were held regarding the importance of innovation.
Péter Chrabák, Leader of the Circular Economy research department of Bay Zoltán Alkalmazott Kutatási és Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft, presented the importance of the circular economy in reaching EU and local waste goals.
Katalin Sebők, Vice President of Corporate Innovation of the National Research, Developement and Innovation Office, provided information on the situation and opportunities of research and developement and innovation in Hungary.
Zsolt Pataki, Director of Developement and Project Directorate of the University of Pannonia, presented the institutional innovation ecosystem of the University of Pannonia to the participants.
Dr. Beáta Fehérvölgyi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pannonia, presented the Research and Innovation Manager course launched earlier this year.
Az Innovációs és Technológiai Minisztérium valamint a Nemzeti Kutatási, Fejlesztési és Innovációs Hivatal kezdeményezésére több budapesti és vidéki egyetemen került megalapításra egy-egy Területi Innovációs Platform, köztük 2020. február 11-én Veszprémben a Pannon Egyetemen. A kezdeményezés célja, hogy az egyetemi tudásbázisokra épülve a helyi innovációs ökoszisztéma szereplői között erős és élő együttműködés alakuljon ki, erősítve magát a K+F és innovációs teljesítményt.
